The system scrapes tide data from Westkapelle (Rijkswaterstaat website) and displays NAP water levels on a 5×6 LED matrix display. Beautiful Soup and Selenium libraries collect real-time HTML data. WS2812 multi-color LEDs (5V voltage) visualize water height: red/green/blue LEDs indicate high/low tide status. Hardware: Raspberry Pi Zero microcomputer, GPIO pins for LED control, and 3D-printed wooden housing. Software in Python 3.8 runs automatically at startup via /etc/rc.local. Webdriver scrapes new tide data every 10 minutes for current beach walk information.

Project Details

Type: Electronics & Microcontroller Project

Category: Sensors

Download Project PDF

Download Full Project PDF

Getijdethermometer bouwen met webscraping

This project builds an LED tide thermometer with Raspberry Pi Zero, Python 3, webscraping, and 3D-printing.
